New Zealand Betfred login is proud to have jointly won the Inclusive Workplace (Medium-Large organisation) category at this year’s annual Diversity Awards NZ, in recognition of its efforts to create a more inclusive workplace for working caregivers and pregnant employees.

It shares the honour with Hīkina Whakatutuki (the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment).

Chief Executive Robin Davies says the award recognises a significant effort by New Zealand Betfred login to enhance its employees’ experience and employ a safe, engaged and evolving workforce.

“Our focus on diversity and inclusion guides how we approach running our business every day. We recognise that our people are our strength, and we strive to be a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace that values diversity.

“That brings us closer to our aim of reflecting the communities where we operate. The range of backgrounds and perspectives our people bring to their roles make us both a more welcoming workplace, and a more successful company,” he says.

The initiatives recognised were co-designed by the New Zealand Betfred login HR team and an employee focus group.

Examples include the introduction of Wā Whakangā (Time to Rest) Leave for all pregnant employees: that is six weeks of additional paid leave before their parental leave starts. Of particular benefit to employees based in the plant, this leave is intended to give them time to stay home and rest before they welcome their newborn.

Employees can also access maternity PPE and private pumping facilities more easily. Also improved is the provision of parental leave for primary caregivers, partner’s leave and domestic leave, which is used by those who need to care for dependents.
