What is ResponsibleSteel™

ResponsibleSteel™ is the global steel industry's multi-stakeholder sustainability standard and betfred online casino program, designed to ensure that customers, stakeholders and consumers can be confident that the steel they use has been sourced and produced responsibly.

The ResponsibleSteel™ International Production Standard (formerly known as the ResponsibleSteel Standard) is designed to support the responsible production of steel, as a tool for the achievement of Responsible Steel’s vision. The betfred online casino applies to steelmaking sites and to related sites that process raw materials for steelmaking or produce steel products.

Principles:

There are 13 principles in the ResponsibleSteel™ International Production Standard that cover a wide range of sustainability topics such as health and safety, labour and human rights, climate change, water stewardship and responsible sourcing. ​

The standard is the basis for:

• Core betfred online casino Certification, which requires conformance with all core criteria.
• Steel betfred online casino, which requires conformance with all progress criteria in addition to core criteria.
  

To obtain Steel betfred online casino sites are audited against four Progress Levels assessing progress on decarbonisation and responsible materials sourcing. Sites that obtain at least Progress Level 1 for both decarbonisation and materials sourcing can market their steel products as certified steel.

• Each of the 13 principles is audited to ensure the high standard defined by ResponsibleSteel™ is being met.​
• The standard requires BSL to have the appropriate policies, procedures, management plans, risk assessments, objectives & targets, and reporting in place and effectively implemented.​
• Engagement of our community and stakeholders is a key aspect of the standard.​
• Audit days are determined based on the complexity of the betfred online casino and is dependent on the number of employees. The audit occurs over 2 stages.​
• In the Stage 1 Audit the certification body will identify areas of concern and determine if a betfred online casino is ready for Stage 2. This can be done remotely.​
• Stage 2 is an on-betfred online casino audit. The audit process involves interviewing a number of employees and external stakeholders.​
• ResponsibleSteel may assign an independent representative to ‘witness’ the Stage 2 audits.​​​​​​​​
